Can I finance equipment for a practice I'm acquiring?
Yes — and the timing usually works alongside a goodwill loan from a clinical bank. We can issue conditional approval before completion so the kit list is funded the day you take the keys, with rentals starting once you're operational.
Will lenders fund refurbished medical imaging equipment?
On the right brand and with a credible service history, yes. We've funded refurbished CT, MRI and X-ray systems from approved refurbishers. Engineer's report and 12-month warranty usually required.
Can self-employed associates apply?
Yes — we have lenders who'll lend to self-employed dental associates, vet locums and aesthetic clinicians on the strength of UDA history, gross billings and personal credit. Typically requires a personal guarantee.
Is VAT recoverable on clinical equipment finance?
Mostly no — clinical services are largely VAT-exempt, which means VAT on equipment is a hard cost. Hire purchase is generally more efficient than finance lease for VAT-exempt practices because the full cost is capitalised. Always confirm with your accountant.
