Structure
Hire purchase dominant for plant retention; refinance to release equity from owned kit ahead of bid bonds and contract starts.
The usual pain.
Auction kit is 'too risky'
Mainstream lenders won't touch auction stock. We use plant-specialist funders who understand reserve prices, condition reports and post-auction inspections.
Seasonal contracts
Site work bunches Q2–Q3. We build seasonal payment profiles — lower payments in winter, full payments in build season.
Kit needed yesterday
Award letter today, mobilisation in 14 days. We turn around plant approvals inside 24 hours and pay the dealer on documented sight.
How we structure it.
Plant-specialist underwriting
Lenders who know the residual value of a 4-year-old JCB 8030 to within £500. Sharper rates because they price the asset, not just the borrower.
Auction & private-sale ready
We can fund kit bought at Ritchie Bros, Euro Auctions, Cheffins or off the back of a private sale. Engineer's report often replaces dealer warranty.
Refinance for working capital
Released £180k+ from owned plant for one Cardiff customer ahead of a Section 278 highways contract — kit never left the yard.
A real construction & plant deal we placed.
£430,000
£430k of plant for a regional groundworks contractor
A growing groundworks firm needed two telehandlers, three dumpers and a 13-tonne excavator for a new housing site starting in four weeks — but adverse credit from a 2022 CCJ blocked mainstream lenders.

ExploreQuestions construction & plant customers ask.
Can I finance machinery I'm buying at auction?
Yes — we have three lenders comfortable with auction purchases (Ritchie Bros, Euro Auctions, Cheffins, Sandhills, etc.). You'll typically need an engineer's inspection report and the lot description. We can issue a pre-approved facility before you bid.
Will lenders fund a brand-new groundworks business with no track record?
Often yes. We have a 'new-start' panel who will lend on the back of director experience, signed contract evidence and a credible business plan — typically with a higher deposit (15–25%) and a personal guarantee.
Can I refinance plant I already own?
Yes — sale & HP-back is one of the most flexible ways to release equity from kit you've already paid for. We get the asset valued, pay you up to 90% of the open-market value, and you continue using the kit on a new HP agreement.
What about tracker requirements?
Most plant lenders now require CESAR-style tracking on machines over £25k. We can package the tracker subscription into the agreement so it's one monthly cost.
