Structure
HP for owned-asset write-off; finance lease for tech evergreening; refinance against owned-kit value to fund expansion.
The usual pain.
Income lumps around projects
Big invoices land at delivery, then a quiet quarter. We have lenders who'll structure quarterly or back-loaded payments matched to commission patterns.
Banks see freelance as risk
We fund sole-trader DOPs, freelance editors and small production companies on the strength of contracted gigs and personal credit.
Specialist kit is hard to value
A used ARRI Alexa Mini is worth specific money — our broadcast-specialist lenders price it correctly first time.
How we structure it.
Broadcast-specialist underwriting
Lenders who actually know what an Alexa LF or Sound Devices Scorpio is worth on the secondary market.
Project-flex profiles
Quarterly or back-loaded payments, deferred starts to match shoot dates, commission-aligned step-ups.
Freelance and small-co friendly
We can fund sole traders, partnerships and limited companies under two years old with the right contract evidence.

"Bank wanted three weeks just to look at the file. AssetFi had the agreement signed and the digger paid for in 36 hours. Couldn't fault them."
Genuinely no fees
"I'd been stung by brokers before so I asked twice — really, no fees? Confirmed in writing. Got a sharper rate than my bank too. They've now done four vans for me."
Understood our cash flow
"We needed a CBCT scanner but our last accounts had a bad quarter. AssetFi went to specialist healthcare lenders, came back with three options and explained each properly. Brilliant."
Our panel
Lenders we use for media & production
Independent of any single lender. We place every deal with the funder offering the best fit on rate, structure and speed.
Plus 40+ specialist funders covering challenger banks, asset-specific lenders and tier-2 underwriters. Lender names shown are trademarks of their respective owners.
Questions media & production customers ask.
Can a freelance DOP or editor get finance?
Yes — we fund self-employed media professionals on the strength of contracted gigs, personal credit and recent invoice history. Personal guarantee usually required.
Will lenders fund ex-rental house kit?
Yes — ex-rental cameras and lighting are mainstream. Engineer's report and service history typically required for any item over £15k.
What about drones and specialist aerial kit?
Funded routinely. We'll need sight of operator CAA permissions and specialist insurance, and the lender will price the residual conservatively.
Can I finance kit for a single shoot?
Generally no — minimum term is usually 24 months. For one-off shoots, traditional rental is more cost-effective.
