What we fund within Tractor Finance

Specifics matter. Here's what's in scope.

Compact (under 100hp)

John Deere 5-Series, Massey 4700, Kubota M-Series. Smallholdings, equestrian, ground-care, market gardens.

Mid-range (100–200hp)

Massey 6S/7S, JD 6M/6R, Fendt 500/700, Case IH Maxxum/Puma, New Holland T6/T7. The UK's workhorse band.

High-power (200hp+)

Fendt 800/900/1000, JD 7R/8R, Case Magnum, Claas Axion, MF 8S. Arable and contracting workhorses.

Specialist

Narrow-track for orchard/vineyard, low-ground-pressure, articulated. Including Fendt Vario and stepless transmission specs.

Used tractor stock

Up to 8 years old at start of 5-year term. Dealer-warranted or auction-bought (with inspection report).

Implements

Ploughs, cultivators, drills, sprayers, balers, mowers, swathers. Often funded as part of a multi-asset agri agreement.

Why finance, not cash

Three reasons tractors buyers finance.

Cash flow lives off-cycle

Tractor work is year-round, but farm income arrives in chunks (harvest, BPS, livestock sale). Finance smooths the spend across the cycle.

Tractors hold their value

A 5-year-old Fendt 724 still has £80k+ of metal. HP makes sense — you own a sellable, depreciating-but-valuable asset at end of term.

Free cash for inputs and rent

Inputs, rent, labour and fuel are the killer costs. Tying up £180k of working capital in a tractor while inputs spike is a poor trade.

How it runs

From quote to tractors on the road.

01

Tell us the spec

Make, model, year, dealer or auction. We can issue a soft-search approval in 24 hours so you can sign at the dealer.

02

Agri-specialist match

Three to five agri-specialist lenders compete. We pre-screen for funders who'll model your income mix (commodity + BPS + diversification).

03

Pay-out

Documents e-signed; dealer paid the next morning; tractor ready for collection or delivery as soon as it's prepped.

Recommended structure

Hire Purchase usually wins for tractors.

Tractors hold their residual value and most farmers want to own outright at the end of term. HP delivers ownership and qualifies for AIA/full expensing.

Genuinely no fees

"I'd been stung by brokers before so I asked twice — really, no fees? Confirmed in writing. Got a sharper rate than my bank too. They've now done four vans for me."

Understood our cash flow

"We needed a CBCT scanner but our last accounts had a bad quarter. AssetFi went to specialist healthcare lenders, came back with three options and explained each properly. Brilliant."

FAQs

Tractor Finance — what people ask.

Can I time payments to my harvest?

Yes — we have agri-specialist lenders who'll structure annual payments timed to grain, root crop or livestock sale, or seasonal profiles where six months of the year carry lower rentals. Worth flagging at quote stage.

Will lenders fund a used tractor with high hours?

It depends on the brand and service history. Premium brands (Fendt, JD R-series, Case Magnum) with full main-dealer service history are funded at 8+ years and 8,000+ hours. Mass-market brands cap closer to 6 years/6,000 hours.

Can a tenant farmer apply?

Yes — we finance partnerships, sole traders, FBT tenants and limited-company farms. Tenancy agreement, BPS entitlements and stock value all factor into affordability.

Are BPS payments included as income?

Specialist agri lenders include direct payments and ELM/SFI income at full value. Generic lenders often discount or exclude them — which is why we go to specialists first.
