The challenge
A fruit grower needed irrigation equipment and a compact tractor ahead of a dry growing season, but income would not arrive until harvest contracts settled.
What we did
A 72-month hire purchase structure with seasonal repayments weighted after harvest, supported by supermarket supply contracts.
The outcome
The equipment was installed before peak irrigation demand and repayments now follow the orchard's real cash-flow cycle.
The full story
How the deal came together.
Cash flow did not match the need
The equipment was needed before the hottest months, but the grower's income profile was harvest-led. A level monthly payment would have put unnecessary strain on spring cash flow.
Seasonal structure
We placed the deal with an agriculture lender that understood post-harvest cash cycles and could weight repayments after crop receipts.
Outcome
The irrigation system protected yield through the season, and the compact tractor added flexibility across pruning, spraying and trailer work.
