Three common ways
to finance a CV.
Most UK businesses pick hire purchase for vans and trucks they want to own at the end of the term. Finance lease and contract hire suit fleets that refresh on a 3–4 year cycle.
Hire Purchase
Deposit + fixed monthlies. Own the vehicle outright at the end. Capital allowances available.
Finance Lease
No deposit, VAT spread, lower monthlies. Continue, sell or return at end of primary term.
Contract Hire
Operating lease with full residual risk on the lender. Predictable lifecycle, walk away at end.

Vehicle finance, answered.
What's the cheapest way to finance a van?
For most SMEs it's hire purchase — vans hold their value reasonably well, you get capital allowances on the asset and you own it outright at the end. Finance lease can be cheaper monthly if you'll upgrade in 3–4 years.
Can I finance a used vehicle?
Yes. Most lenders will fund vehicles up to 5 years old at the start of the agreement, with the agreement ending before the vehicle is 10 years old. Specialist lenders go older still.
Do you fund private-sale vehicles?
Yes — provided we can verify the title, the vehicle's history and a fair market valuation. We'll usually arrange an independent inspection on bigger-ticket purchases.
What about VAT-qualifying vehicles?
On commercial vehicles VAT is reclaimable (subject to your VAT position). On hire purchase the VAT is invoiced upfront and reclaimed in your next return; on finance lease the VAT is spread across each rental.
Can I include the conversion or fit-out?
Yes. Refrigeration units, tail-lifts, toolboxes, racking, livery and ply-lining can typically be rolled into the finance — one monthly payment, one agreement.
Will applying affect my credit score?
No. We use a soft search to shop the market across our 60+ lender panel. A full search is only run by the chosen lender once you accept their offer.
